I just picked up my first Charvel earlier this week, and immediately found this forum...which is good because I have a couple questions about replacement whammy bars...(see below please) But first some info and pics
1987 Charvel Model 4
P'ups switched out prior to me owning it...it has a Blue Lace Sensor at the neck, Reverse Wound Seymour Duncan Strat Pickup in the middle, and an unknown model, red and black Seymour Duncan in the bridge (when I change strings I may pull it out to see if I can find a model number or something on the back)
Because of the switch in pickups, the boost knob is now non-functional, but the tone and volume knobs are still wired, and all of the 3 way switches are still operational.
The JT6 is in great condition, no stripped out anything...the only thing I can't stand is the free swinging whammy bar (suggestions on whether to replace with a Schaller Bar+Collar OR an OFR Bar+collar??? Are they the same thing?) On that note...is the JT-6 worth keeping if I have the money to order a brand new OFR?
Frets are in great shape, and honestly other than the slight swirl in the clearcoat from cleanings over the last 20+ years...there really are no visible blemishes.

I love that Red!
