  • JE1200 pot value

    Hi guys,

Anyone know the pot value for the actual midboost level pot? Is it 50k? I bust mine (stopped turning and didn't have any switch cleaner).

    Thanks!

Does it not say on the back of the pot? I haven't pulled my plate off to check, but I know when I built my Tele, the pots said what they were etched into the back...??

I'm almost positive that on mine the volume pot is 50k audio and the boost level pot is 50k linear. I'll pop it open after a bit to double check and be sure.

            No, it is 50K linear.

The purpose of this pot is to slowly blend boosted with non-boosted signals to the output. At the midpoint, it should be 50/50. This wouldn't be the case with an audio pot. I have a JE1200 with a switch in place of the pot, which is perfectly fine as well.

Just looked, and it's definitely marked "B50k", which is linear. The volume pot (the one mounted to the circuit board) is A50k.

Thanks chaps! I could have looked at the pot but I tossed it somewhere when it went down. Right now I am using a 250k pot with two or three 22k resistors across the lugs. Best I could do for a replacement. I am having a really hard time finding a long shaft 50k pot, y'see.

It doesn't have to be a 50K. Any Linear will do. Think of the switch I describe as being an infinity pot. It still works.
