I'm also looking forward to the updates - I'm really glad I found this site, and fellow M6 fanatics.
Good luck and get well soon, PS.

Thanks for the good wishes all. Here's some more pics, first is the crack then repair. I had to be creative be in an apartment with no tools. All I have to use is razor blades, and the clamps I brought from my old home. I cut an old towel and wrapped in wax paper to keep the glue from sticking. It's keeping me occupied to say the least. I will say that Jackson has the toughest paint finishes on earth. Takes hours of scraping to get though it. My Ps4 feel from the rafters about 5ft in my basement and not one piece of finish popped off. Enough gab.

            Scarf Joint crack.

Work area, and yes that is a napkin holder which doesn't work too well.

            Crude clampage.

            Trem Route crack.

            Top Veneer.

I'll add more next time, enjoy!

Kitchen workbench! Nothing is stopping you, I like that Nice progress and very nice pictures. With regards to the paint scraping... with a freshly cut piece of glass, I can cut through to the wood on a Jackson neck in approx. 3 swipes. A Stanley blade gets dull pretty quickly and it doesn't have 8 edges like a square cut piece of glass. I would start out with glass, then change to Stanley blade when close to the wood, and then finish off with sanding.

I'm live again. I can't believe how dependent we all are on the net now. Anyway, I'll have more progress pics soon. I am eager to get this bad boy screaming. Anyone know what the nut width is on this? I want order a Floyd or Schaller, I'll let you guys pick. Opinions on the inserts in the Schaller's are welcome. It has to be gold, I'm leaning toward a floyd at this point, but thinking era correct might be cool too, with the Schaller, or era close, I should say. I definitely do not want a jt-6 on it. Thanks to all, this is fun. Sorry for the type o's above but I'm sure you all get it.

That's is a novel idea, I didn't think of glass, I'll see if i can find some. The only reason I don't go get stuff is because it's real hard for me to get around. My back is spanked, that's what I'm waiting on, surgery wise. I lean on the kitchen counter and scrape my ass off, then go to the recliner and play, when it gets rough. Trying to stay productive despite my issues. Lol

If I remember correctly, I stripped the whole thing in a few hours with a RO sander and by hand for the horns and tight spots.. Lots o' dust for moms kitchen though.. Scraping may the best bet for you..

If it was me, I'd just go with the OFR. Schallers are much more expensive I think and a OFR works fine so..

Update. I have been on a parts search. Plus, my hand stopped working, so I had to quit scraping for a couple days. lol Anyway, I ended up scoring a new, gold, schaller floyd and a set of gold grover tuners for $200 and some change. I'll do some more pics after I get the neck final sanded and the studs doweled. I've heard the necks on the these can be on the thick side but this one is perfect, just a tad thicker than my ps4 and that is super thin. Been playing a lot of AIR guitar with it. Cheers.

Crap! Set back #1. Dude sent me tuners for a reverse headstock. I'm thinking I'll keep them and put them on my Ps4, I'll get tuners when I can get some more dough. Waiting to see if he has the correct ones and if so, I'll see if he will give me a deal.

Hey all, quick question and then some pics to follow, tonight. I finally got through all of the paint. Does anyone know what the numbers indicate inside the hum route?

Finally, some progress!!!!!! Here it is all cleaned off, well.. almost. I still need to get through the sanding sealer and horn tips. I'll be ordering the top next week, and so far have an original black floyd and thinking of getting a duncan custom 5 for the bridge. More to come soon. Told you it would take forever. Peace and happy Memorial Day!!

I watch with baited breath. Been wanting to do the same thing to one of mine. Keep up the good work.

Sweet! You don't have to go through the sanding sealer though. That's as far as you need to go right there. What top you putting on?
