I know, I know, Yes I second thought the above and kept it. My son thought it was cool, so Toejam knows the dealo. Anyway, fast forward to NOW and he she lives again. I just got a lead guitar spot in a local band and of course they have 5 tunings, so..... I had to get her running fast. I have no cash to do her up right so I drew on it with a sharpie, don't freak out yet, lol. I will eventually put a quilt top on it. Believe it or not this guitar plays absolutely stunning. I hated top mount trems and then I got a Les Paul and then went back to this and I must say she is growing on me fast. I don't care right now, it is another extremely useful tool, still needs to be wired, but that's nothing. Here are some pics to either scoff at or dig, the choice is yours. At least there finally is an end in sight for this girl, her name is Alice. She will be used for Alice tunes, half step down so it will easier on her neck which is perfect. Totally raw right now, but will be tru-oiled this weekend. I have help with my back now, as my band mates carry all my shit for me, how cool is that. I just show up and rip. Cheers! It's taking forever for the pics so I'll post in the next one.

I had 2 brand new floyds, long story for another time, and was supposed to be for another guitar but it is so just right on her. Mike Shannon would be proud, well maybe, I doubt it, lol.

have you ever considered having that design burned into the guitar?

That would be actually pretty cool! Glad it's sort of coming along, Dan.
And I decided against ordering that Carvin DC125 build for now, but my fiance convinced me to go for a Carvin 8-string build with only one pickup, so I just placed that order this past week.

That's cool, I haven't tried an 8 but I sure do like my 7, I call it Rusty, but it's not,lol That guitar took about 6 years to get her straight, rebuilt, refinished 3 times, lol. I could throw it down the stairs and it would be in tune now, lol, well that's a little exaggerated of course. Good idea Pianodude, I probably could do it with a fine tip soldering iron, hmmm. I have no idea where that design came from, I have never seen anything close to it. I just started drawing it one day. Go figure. Thanks guys.

Oh yeah, the back and side are stained black, it was brown and then I went over it with black. There's no rules here! So it black brown, lol. S@@t brown, lol. Anyhow I can't help but get the skeleton's ball feel from this maybe cop it in white on the back or something? I really can't stop playing the damn thing, I'm getting old and changing gears I guess. I wouldn't touch a Floyd unless it was recessed, now I like both.

And one more thing too, for those that dare go through the hell of removing Charvel/jackson paint. All of the one's I have stripped,3 now(85-92?), all have veneer on the front and back, not the sides, and also usually in 2 or 3 strips going length wise of course. Neck through models same deal, obviously 3 pieces on those, but bolt on's, same thing.

I've had four 7s over the years (two now), and recently picked up a cheap LTD 8 with 25.5" scale and like it a lot. I've decided to take the plunge and go for the baritone 27" Carvin and probably sell the LTD.

Carvin makes killer 7's! Better than Jackson for sure! Ibanez is a close second, for 7 strings now, I didn't say 6, lol. We are on the Charvel area, lol, The 7 string with Alice is an Ibanez rg7620 from the early 90's. It was in production with the jems and universes, blah, blah. Anyway, It is absolute screaming deal if you can find one. EXACT same thing as the $1000 universe w/o the middle pickup, even has the same dimarzio's. Mine is all stock except for the SD JAzz in the neck, I dislike Dimarzio's but the bridge is Ok, I would rather have an SD sh-14, those are killer.

My first 7 was the RG7620, then I got a Schecter 007 Elite and got out of playing 7s for awhile so I got rid of them (stupidly). I've got the one Carvin 7 and LTD Alex Wade 7 signature now and a bunch of 6s. I think I'm good on guitars now with this next 8 coming... until the next bout of GAS strikes!
I really want to see your Model 6 eventually finished.

I have the same train of thought, until like you said, GAS. Now I'm going to wreck it for you, lol. Seriously, a little off topic but check out the Laney IRT Studio. GAS even though it's Laney, lol. I'm done for awhile with guitars until I wear these out. You never know what is going to get GAS going again. It's always something. I'll post some more pics when I detail it a little more and get some oil on her, maybe a little flour, lol. True Oil that is, no more beer goggles, too old. Until then......

Hey does anyone know a good reasonable place, to have the fretboard on this replaced with a birds eye maple one?
I really want to finish this, this summer. I have a flamed maple top for it, 1/8 inch, but want a maple board and floyd
nut added. Worth it? or let it go for a real soloist? I hate to sell it though, I don't think I can. Thanks Duders.

Do it like this or maybe talk to Dave and see if he'd do it. (It's Dave from fretsonthenet.com and Budman68 here)
