  • My 86 Model 3

Today I loosened EVERYTHING that was loosenable (real word?) on my Kahler 2700 as well as the behind the nut lock. I put a butterknife under the back of the trem to keep it level and restrung. Tightened until I could JUST slip the knife out from under it, and tuned. retightened each saddle. Tuned.
retightened each string lock. Tuned. retightened each behind the nut locking plate. Fine tuned. I have been ABUSING the shit out of this thing WELL over an hour. I have NEVER EVER had the action this low and had everything feel so damn right! I guess tuning each time prior to tightening ANYTHING allows the strings to follow a more "natural" path? Whatever I did, all I can say is "HOLY SHIT, this is the BEST damn setup I have EVER played "PERIOD".
It is FAST FAST FAST and so damn easy to do crap that was not so easy to do before this setup! I always LOVED this guitar because of the neck. It was just a good feeling neck to play on. Now, however, it is still that same neck, but OMG it plays like a different guitar!
I STILL suck at playing more because of my complete lack of timing, but I CAN tell a good player and this thing meedly meedly meeeeeeeeees with the best of em!
I live on the edge of danger facing life and death every single day.....then I leave her at home and go disarm bombs.
