  • san dimas/ so cal hybrid. light relic Paf Pro big brass block!! LOVE IT!!

    Hi. New member.
Picked up my pro mod around a month ago and already own a Wayne guitar Rock Legend but wanted something to gig with worry free.

Started life as standard san dimas however soon got a so cal plate on her and then out came the JB and in went a zebra Dimarzio PAF PRO. I have been a duncan man for around 10 years since i sold my old 1990 DSY JEM 777 and bought my Wayne custom. BUT.........The PAF PRO is incredible in the bridge.I am seriously considering pop'n one in the Wayne. Then off came that Horrible knob and on went a vintage strat volume knob from my 1989 fenix strat.

next up was the big block upgrade. I went for 37 L shape so I can have some up bend.( again all my floyds have been flush ever since the Jem . My schecter c1fr. Musicman axis(sold) peavey wolfgang usa deluxe( sold) wayne. But I really like the overall feel of it on the chervil.)

Having never done any work on a guitar before I was kind of scared but it went really well. Intonated great but i think it might need some truss rod adjustmet as low E. Buzzes after 8th fret. And although I like highish action to get stuck in it may come down a tad in near future.
    Went for ernie ball 10-52's.

I love how the neck is aged as the tint has come off the neck.and i have a lovly flame to it. Put some abalone dot markers on her swell.

I then decided to relic Her with some knocks / scratches and dulling on arm contour with a dish wash sponge. Lol being black it doesnt really come out in photos but in person I think its perfect.

    Still to do.......
    ciggy burn on headstock
Small hole on headstock for were the string tree would have been
Coil tap via 20mm circle rocker.
    Trem stopper for setup time

Its now my Go to guitar and i Love playing her.
Dont get me wrong the overall quality of the custom Wayne. Axis and wolfy was higher but I just cant put this one down.

PS I am selling my PRS on bay at mo. check it out !!

Thanks for reading. Ill put photos up soon

Get rid of the <a></a> and the <img> tags, basically just post the URL of the image inbetween the IMG tags.
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

I would figure if you gig with it, it would 'age' soon enough and actually age naturally

Also don't forget to scuff the back with one of your beltbuckles, it would add more realism

With all due respect Nightbat if you dont agree with it I really dont care.
The whole relic/ Let it age natural debate is 1 can of worms I have grown bored with over the years on every forum.
And yes the rear also has its share of 'relic' marks.
And I am really happy with it.

Well we're not bored here mwahaha. Obviously you're into Van Halen's beat up guitars. fun fact, he used to age his guitar with the actual age they accumulated from constant gigging over the years. Amazing right? A true pioneer is suppose :P Good god, what have you done to that poor 777DY.

On a serious note, very nice collection. Apart for your knack of pointless mods, you have good taste in instruments. Enjoy the new axe, and please take everything we say with a grain of salt :P we are all somewhat douches, though some people have too much pride and will say i speak for myself :P
