  • Charvel Fusion Custom?

Hello All, I have what i believe is a Charvel fusion custom, ft worth neckplate,h/s/s/ . all pretty standard stuff, but here's the thing the color is not listed in the original ad for the guitars. it has an orange band around the perimeter of the guitar that transitions to a translucent amber over a tiger striped book matched maple top. serial is 281240 any help or info in id'ing her will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance, GtrLvr

    That's a 375 deluxe - 1989 to 1990 - made in Japan. THat's a pretty common finish.

You have a Charvel 375 Deluxe in Cherry Sunburst.

Edit: tcwil8 beat me to it I would say they were available from 1989 to 1991. But the serial here makes is pretty interesting: 281240 = 1992.

Oh and don't forget to GTWGITS. Since you're new, it stands for Get the whole guitar in the shot. We like to view our guitar porn on one screen. Leaves both hands free.

Thanks jackson1 didn't mean to leave you out or seem ungrateful and I thank you both for replying as quickly as you both did. also sorry for the pics being split up as they were . they were taken on my phone an old lg cu920 guess i might have had it on macro or something gotta correct that. but as far as the guitar goes. i found it in a local pawn shop and got it and the original h.s.c for $150.00 i am assuming it was a pretty good deal. considering the quality of the guitar and someone adding the Seymour Duncan in the bridge.

Hey, no problem at all. And $150 is a true bargain. Also thanks tcwil8.

                  (Hi Henrik !)
With that Serial (28****) I'd expect a 1988 Model Series Bolt On !?
                  Maybe somebody swapped neckplates ?
gtrivr: Could you post a pic of the neckplate ?

Hey Franx Yeah, me too, so it's a bit weird. My serial comment was a quick one I threw it there to have us wondering. We shouldn't forget that the Jackson brand took over and the serialization changed on the bolt-on's, so... yeah, I dunno

gtrlvr: a pic of the neckplate shure would be interesting to see.

No Problem guys here ya go. I had a friend of mine to look at the guitar, and he said it looked like it was the original neckplate .because the gasket behind the plate was there and the screws weren't buggered up.But i would much rather you guys have a look at it because ya'll are Jackson & Charvel experts. and i thank you jackson1 and franx for taking the time to help me on this. cheers ps. the guitar came with a chainsaw case. were these available with this model?

Interesting. As said previously by Franx, serial 281240 indicates a 1988 Charvel Model Series bolt-on guitar. The plate design does too.

But your guitar (apart from the plate) is a Charvel 375 Deluxe from the later 1989-1991 "Classic Series". My opinion is that the "Fort Worth..." text should not be there, but I don't know precisely when they stopped using it. Also, the serial should be much higher, well past the 320000 (according to Mark St.'s data).

Maybe the plate has been swapped after all.
Maybe Jackson Charvel used a wrong leftover plate by mistake.
Maybe your 375 was made in a "transition" period, where the production line changes and weird stuff is happening.
Maybe your 375 is a prototype / a showcase for things to come, built in 1988. Pure speculation.

Oh btw., what does it say on the plate, just right beside the 6 in-line tuners? It looks like a "TM" and if it is, I will panic.

That neckplate is driving me nuts. I would like to believe it belongs to a Model Series guitar, but it doesn't fit with the assumptions / approximations we have done over the years looking at the Charvel Model Series: http://audiozone.dk/index-filer/char...uitars.php#yom

                              So, we are down to:
I don't think your guitar is a fake.
I don't think the neckplate belongs there.
I think the neckplate is weird as hell.

I need councelling and medication now
