The threads are fine on the pickups. They use small screws that go through the existing holes easily.

Well, that's the thing about Charvel/Jackson, there is a certain amount of "random bullshit" done to some guitars from the Custom Shop depending on who puts it together. On most of my Charvel direct mount pickups they use the same kind of screws as are used for a bezel, which is small enough to go through the existing hole and not hurt the threads. I did have one that used slightly larger screws, but I never removed them so I don't know what they were.
