Welcome. Use however many springs you want and in whichever formation you choose that works best for you.

It is. And he was also asking about witch formation, but I don't know any witches.

The 3 spring fan configuration that you spoke of earlier is what Ive seen most. Depending on your strings and how much ease of movement you want in the trem is pretty much gonna determine how many springs to use. If youre using 9's or 10's, 3 springs should work just fine. Just screw the claw screws in a bit more to flatten out that trem a bit, unless you like it that way for more pull up room. It can be a tedious task to get it just right but its worth it and usually lasts forever unless you change string gauges.

If you already know how it works, then what's the problem? I've seen some people use two springs with their trems, others three, four or five, and in different formations. Set it up how YOU want it set up.
