My model 5 Mike Learn refin.

So Mike sent me an email that he was working on the paint on my Model 5 today on his live cam. Unfortunately I was at work so I could watch it live, but I got to watch the videos after the fact.

It was originally Black Cherry. The guitar is getting a floyd conversion and some other work done as well as a full refinish. Mike got most of the paintwork finished today and he sent me a picture as well.



I had high hopes for the paintjob and it turned out better than I imagined. Now I just have to wait out the guitar being finished up. I call this guitar the Slaadocaster as the big lizard dude is a Dungeons and Dragons creature called a Slaad.

Nice one Drew! I don't get it why Ron's calling you a Nerd. Is the artwork from some comics or something?

I too got a DK2T refinished by Mike just last month. Did you get a chance to catch my thread?

The artwork is taken from some a couple pictures I snagged off the web and sent to Mike. The Slaad design is taken from that, the swordsman is pretty much all Mike. You can kind of see a large copy of some of the source art behind the guitar is the picture. Mike made the Slaad look way more badass than the source image though.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to fit Frazetta's Death Dealer on my RR1...
