Hell even the truss rod covers look like trash... hand cut by some 9 year old slave factory worker probably. And they must go through filler by the bucket judging from the amount around all the inlays.

And that's the fun part, the JS series in the equivalent of these desolation (perhaps even lower)
yet a lot less flak do those recieve

at least the desolation is on a totally different 'branch of the charvel tree' whereas the JS are modeled to the exact likeness of 'True, honest to god, good old fashioned, the real american' Jacksons

I was, because it let me get a neckthrough soloist equivalent for almost half the price of a student soloist. Then when I got older and more able to afford it I grabbed a couple USA Jacksons. You have to remember though the Model series were well built guitars using decent wood. The dessicated rosewood board pictured earlier in this thread reminds me of the cheapest LTDs and Ibanezes at the local dealer. It's like they are gathering deadfall bleached out in the sun on a dry creekbed.

There is kind of a conflict between two schools of thought, here. If you're not brand-conscious at all and only care about quality guitars then this really doesn't matter, you will continue to get the same quality guitars from the Charvel Custom Shop, or buy used USA made guitars, or whatever. However if part of the appeal of Charvel is the name/reputation and the history, then someone just took a huge whiz in your Cheerios, because instead of standing for high-quality Custom Shop guitars, the name now stands for junky low-end Chinese guitars.

I'm sure everyone was thrilled when they decided to put "Charvel" on some Japanese guitars in the 80's, right?

[QUOTEI am not going to write a brand off because they add a line to serve a market that I am not even a part off. Its just not logical in any light.
I like what I like. They like what they like. We like things for different reasons. And the world keeps turning.
So what I think we need to do is keep buying the product we like ,and or, the product we can afford. And we will keep our favorite part of the market relevent enough to them to keep us a little happy as the world continues to move on. And in some cases, with out a few. ][/QUOTE]

No Imports! Just batch after batch of super high quality USA made greatness, charge $1500 per & let word of mouth re-build the reputation Charvel would then deserve............Fucking Chinese imports!! Unfucking believable! SHAME ON YOU CHARVEL!!
Charvel did that. They have done it for the last few years. Guess you didn't notice that they are still doing it.
Now for the $1500 price tag? Won't happen.
You can still buy a high quality USA Charvel. And they will MAKE a pointy if you want one. But how do they know you want one? How do they know WHAT you want?
Easy. Pony up and put the money on the counter and place that order. Or look through dealers in store inventory and buy it when you find it.
I want a Jackson thats never been made to my knowledge. I will have to pay a shitload of money. But until then I will continue to be content with my import Jackson's and Charvel.

    HAHA aint that the truth!

Whats funnier is that I CALLED IT at the beginning of this thread on the multi-ply necks. Those chineese builders cant/wont build ANY solid/scarf necks for some reason.

Well at least that one has the binding continuing through the cutout (without sacrificing upper fret acces)

    Charvel should take note

Well, they could send us one of those Desolation guitars, but, that's closer to a punishment than a reward.
