What happened to that chick from the old Charvel site? Amy I believe??? I have cash...
Anyway, this new line made in (enter 21st century "C" word here) just increased the value of the older models. Thank you!

Could have been something great from charvel here, but they have played right into the hands of ESP/LTD and schecter.
They look extremely like schecters and they're made in China, perhaps the same factory.
I DO NOT WANT

Ohh, correction, SD blackouts. They're cheaper but I've heard better things about them then emgs.

The beauty of a Les Paul can be the sepate volume and tone knobs for each hum that you can blend.

The Vol, Vol, Tone, Tone config doesn't bother me so much, even though i usually prefer a single volume pot as well, i'd probably feel that something was missing if there wasn't an extra three extra knobs on an LP-style guitar.
Hmm, ~$650 for the higher-end model isn't too bad if you think about it, neck-through with EMGs, Floyd, abalone binding and inlays... Yeah it's made in China but i'm very curious to try one of these out.

Any possibility of getting some photos of the prototypes built by Mike Shannon? That single cut is easily one of the nicest looking LP-style guitars i've ever seen, the lines are just perfect.

Just offering my opinion. I hope this model is successful and I'll gladly eat humble pie if they are still selling well in eighteen months time. I just don't think that they do that well but we will see....

if you guys want to keep buying your vintage '80s style charvel guitars, that's cool, but remember in order for you to get a pro mod, charvel has to stay in business. it does not hurt the charvel brand to offer up something new and different. just because you think that guitar music lives and dies with ratt and whoever else was a one time charvel player, doesn't mean that everyone wants to buy a pro mod....
i have played a few, and personally....i think they suck!!

First online retailer I could find with street prices: http://www.worldmusicsupply.com/charvel-guitars.html
I think that flat gray $299.00 Skatecaster will become a mod project

The specs do say it has a floyd lock nut.

I do not want to sound stuck in the past, but 20 years ago I aspired to play a Charvel guitar. Models such as the 750XL and fusion were cool designs, well built and had a very playable neck. The mid-90's San Dimas guitars were also a fine addition. Charvel then sadly went through a period of disappearing and then re-launching. However, when I played a yellow So-Cal last year I was really impressed. The Japanese Pro-Mods were also superb. I cannot fathom why they now feel the need to bring out a dumpy ESP Eclipse rip off that captures none of the unique Charvel vibe.
I hope this is not going to signal the end of Charvel once again. How about a Japanese made DeMartini model and a new Fusion :-)
What are you on about? You do sound like you're stuck in the past, this is 2011 and even though souped-up, hotrodded Strats do have their place, Charvel can't expect to survive by selling ONE product and appealing to a niche market alone. I can't understand why all you crybabies are whinging about Charvel expanding their line, they haven't done away with the Pro-Mods so what's the big deal? I think it's great for them to expand their lines and branch out into other market territories to appeal to a wider range of players and inject new life into the brand.
All of these models look pretty unique, i don't see why some of you guys are accusing Chavel for ripping off ESP and Schecter because they decided to put out a single-cut style model - something that pretty much every big-name brand has anyway. I guess with that logic Charvel has been ripping off Fender since day one.
