Personally, I think these new styles suck ass. And MIC pisses me off on principle. Don't care if they are competent guitar builders or not. FMIC should have said F-MIC from the start. But sadly, this is the kind of shit that takes place in the new global economy and is basically unavoidable. I'm sure when I too lose my job to the economy (and Chinese workers) I'll have one of these cheap shit Charvels and a Bugera and be happy I still have something to play..

Wow... for the first time, Im actually kind of embarrassed to be a Charvel owner. The name Charvel once stood for something special. These "new" guitars are an embarrassment to everything Charvel was. If I wanted an LTD or Schecter Id buy an LTD or Schecter. These things even LOOK like theyre made by the same Chineese "craftsmen" that make all those other brands. Lame Abalone bling all over the place, shitty looking inlays, all "mahogany" construction. Yeah guess what, 90% of chineese imports are made of "mahogany" now... we get it. Did Charvel really have to follow in those footsteps? Charvel went from being badass to being just another me-too-brand. I never thought Id see the day... WHY CHINA? WTF? Korea would have been acceptable, but CHINA? I bet these also have that "awesome" 5 piece neck-thru construction... the only style any import maker besides Japan seems to know how to build. I guess more pictures will tell the whole story.

My theory? These gutiars were in the works long before they were to be branded "Charvels". This is how big co. operates. These guitars were already designed, slated, and maybe even built before FMIC decided to slap the Charvel logo on them. What a sad day this is.

the surfcaster was an amazing guitar. it played exceptionally well...had a killer tone...and was quite versatile. i am still quite excited to put a new skatecaster in my hands and see how it plays. if it is anything near my former surfcaster i will be all over it!

Eh, she's got a lot of space-age materials holding her together, but she's no Space Shuttle.

Bet it plays nice ... but I`m not a fan of these deflated balloon shaped guitars that are all the rage these days.

A USA run like this one would have been good to start the new models off. This one is really cool - plus having a rock star holding one also helps.

Jenna was kind of hot about 20 years ago IIRC.

She's seen a lot of miles since then and she looks like a stick with two balloons taped to it last time I saw her.
