  • Original baseplate on a JT 590

On a different web site it said all the parts of the original and a 590 were interchangable except the locking screws. What I want to know is can you replace the 590 baseplate with an OFR when it starts to wear? I know the 590 baseplate is zinc and you have to worry about stripping the saddle screw holes and the edges wear faster. If you can just replace the baseplate that would be a good fix.
    Thanks for any replies,

you can replace the baseplate of the JT-590 bridge with a Schaller made Floyd Rose II

There is more detail on this website:

The owner of this website is a member here and is very helpful with things like this, his website is quite good also

Personally, I would wait until you have worn out the JT-590 before bothering to change the baseplate

Yes, I believe its also called the jt-570, a single locking trem with the same made in germany baseplate as the 590. Just swap out the saddles and fat lockbolts.
