I am thinking awfully hard about having my Charvel Model 1 routed for a neck pickup. I admire those 2 pickup Charvels and Jackson Soloists back in the day, but I can forget about buying one soon. Since a lot of them sported a J90c pickup which my guitar already has I was going to slap a J50n in the neck to make my own. I also understand that I will have to install new pots and switches. If you were in my shoes would you route and mod it? I hear that modding a guitar takes away a lot of its value so once it's done I am likely stuck with it. Thanks.

At the end of the day you need to be happy with your guitar...I woudn't worrey about the guitars vale since it's not worth that much in the first place! As a final note most people will complane to no end about modding your Charvel but if you look at Charvels history and what it represents modding is in the very soul of Charvel guitars.

what drj said all the way. i mean, ive seen the same mod you want to do on two model 2's that ive seen, and they sold for around the same as they would pre-mod(yes i knew they were model 2s by the location of the switches. But the electronics thing, thats all you. id prefer a jackson or dimarzio toggle switch, and another volume pot for the killswitche effect, but out of the way so i dont accitentally hit it, but then again, ive never had that problem before. whatever floats your boat man.Guitars:
