  • Charvel ATX Question

I found this rather unusual Charvel on CL:

I was wondering if anyone can provide more details about that model. I was totally unaware Charvel ever did acoustic/electrics like this.

    Thanks!

It was a CTX and JTX body style. They were just trying to hard at that time to be a competitive acoustic manufacturer at the time. I sold them when they came out. Charvel was going through a bad stage at that point. They had surfcasters and the early version of what is the double cut desolation today.
I had hopes for that TX tele shape. But sadly the owners of Jackson/Charvel had no clue what they were doing with the company then in my opinion. If they had, they would have pushed the TX bodies and original PC models into mainstream production. The ATX was a nice looking axe. Especially in that quilt top with trans red.

And the LS-1 & Surfcaster never should have been pulled from production.
