I passed this guitar up for 3 months in a row at the Pawn Shop. They had it for 325.00. Every time I went in this would catch my eye. I picked it up and the neck felt nice. Went to plug it in and it didn't work so the owner told me I could have it for 175.00. Scalped it up and took it apart and found a loose wire. I fell in love wuth the feel and sound of this guy. I haven't found a lot of info on it. It is a Charvel STX Deluxe. Can anyone tell me is value or anything about it ?

Does it have that weird trem and an eagle beak headstock unpainted ? I believe its basswood. Only made in 1992. Considered a cheap import these days like the cx series, not really sought after regardless of its price when new. Probably looked at as a $100 guitar around here but if you got something you like and it plays well for under $200, youre fine. When you checked out the wiring did you notice if the wires were actually soldered on the pots and switches or were they kind of contact welded on with no solder?

I Guess my pics are showing up as white boxes with red x"s. I see them on my computer. Try this for the pics :

I didn't pull off the pickguard as the loose wire was on the 1/4" jack. It sounds like you pegged the guitar though. I found a chainsaw charvel case at the Flee market for 20.00. I was thinking about replacing the Jackson bridge humbucker. Don't know if I want to do it now, if the value of this guy is no more than 200.00.
