Help with a Model 5?

I came across this guitar and Im trying to figure out if its the real deal or not.Im not familiar with these but there doesnt seem to be any holes drilled for the back plates or the truss cover.Im not sure how the locking nut on these worked either because there are no holes for it also.

Yep... Model 5 it is.
Loos like one of the factory seconds like the one I got a few years ago.
Painted but never assembled. Hence no screw holes drilled out on some areas.
The nut is a Kahler style behind the nut lock plate.

Model 5's are great guitars. I let mine go not too long ago and wouldn't mind getting another one. Are you going to keep her original?

Best I can tell this guitar has never had a set of strings on it.I guess all I can do is put her together and see what happens.

Cool. Once you get it assembled, it's essentially a brand-new guitar. Personally, I would have a tech install a proper Floyd nut on it, rather than going with the Kahler-style string lock from the original.

That's what I did with my 5A. Adding a Floyd shelf is pretty simple.

Thats what I will probably end up doing. I was able to buy a 5A yesterday that someone had butchered so I got it dirt cheap.I am pulling parts of it so I guess it will be my next project.
