New to the forum and I thought I would share some pics of my just finished So-Cal remake/restore. I was going for a classic 50's hot rod style looking guitar.
Here is before...
After...
The Paint was done by Marty Bell. It's a candy "firemist" orange.
The pickguard was cut by warmoth. It's "Parchment" in color-it looks white in some of the pictures. The holes for the V&T controls had to be bored by me as the so cal bodies don't exactly have the same route as strat bodies and the volume control had to moved about 1/2". The neck pocket of the pickguard also required just a little shaving down. Screws lined up pretty well.
The pickups are Bill Lawrence LS-200's in the neck and middle and the bridge is a Surh Doug Aldrich in parchment. The tone pot is a push pull to split the humbucker- which sounds fantastic as a single coil.
Went with Chrome hardware and OFR.
This shows the color pretty well as well as the Tremol No...
Chrome hardware and tuners...
Just needs a final set-up but I blocked the trem to give her a run and it plays, looks and sounds fantastic.
