          That's beautiful.

Yep 89 was a transition year for the logos some had this one and some had the small toothpaste logo.
These had the up pull route and the floyd nut very cool for sure.
IIRC that is called silver sparkle.
              Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Is that a USA release guitar or a Japanese "for Japan" model ? I didn't think any 1989 models came over here with the old style logo.

Ahhh, now going back and looking at the pics, I see the Japanese writing. I think that answers my question.

                The color is called Platinum.

The guys at the Jackson Guitar Fan Club (www.jacksonguitar.org) call that the "Sex Stool" finish.

Here's a Japanese market singlecut with the sex stool finish:

That is a Japanese market guitar, not a US one. It is not the Platinum or silver sparkle, but it is gold sparkle. I almost bought it but it would have been about $1050 shipped. That $225 shipping kind of kills it.

I have that same guitar in black/gold crackle. I forget the japanese model number. Alas, it has a headstock break and has been out of action for a long time. Cool guitar. It was great to have the non recessed floyd and real floyd nut.
