My name's Greg. A pic of most of my arsenal, including a model 5 & model 6. The M5 I've had since new from '88. I installed a dimarzio "fred" HB at the bridge. Also I extended the poles of one coil and added another single under it. I custom wired the switch for a position that the bridge HB goes to a single stacked coil(s). Another position uses the 2 closest coils of both HBs. Never had a use for a tone control, so that pot fades in or out, the single coil. It's a push/pull that makes the neck HB a single.
I want to get ahold of some of the other onboard preamps/boost circuits, that were produced back then.
Just recently a string hook broke, so I'm on the lookout for that. Thought about robbing the M6, but that's twice the work.
Shortly after I bought this, I met Peter Frampton and got his sig on the back of the headstock. Always been a fan of his music.
Other axes in the pic...A '65 Baldwin "Nu-Sonic" bass, a samick "Greg Bennet" bass, a jap tele, a couple Electra models...one was an MPC. And old no name classical, a yamaha and a goya acoustics. Missing from the pic is a Ion strat copy.
