  • Red model #2 pu change

So I am going to put a super distortion in to replace a Duncan pup. Would you go double cream or zebra? I am keeping the black pup ring as I can't find a cream ring. Also std or f spaced? Thanks

    Either one would look great.
Keep in mind if you have a JT-6 trem on the guitar its regular spaced and not F spaced.I would go with Std spacing.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I would go zebra. cream with a black with looks goofy to me. An SD might sound muddy in a basewood body.

I would put a regular spaced pickup inside the plastic Jackson cover so that you wouldn't have the gap around the pickup ring.

Bass wood sounds good with most any pick up IMO.

Thx, I don't have the jackson cover, prior owner lost it. So std spacing zebra.

BasSwood has a darker tone and so doe the SD. Can be muddy to my ears.

I really don't think spacing matters. I've had all kinds, no difference to my ears.
