Were all Pre-Fender IMPORT Charvels made by Chushin Gakki?

If you look at the sold section on ebay there's a quilt blue model A that you can see the serial number as 8 digits.

My main concern is with the other guitar I bought, which doesn't have a sticker on the heel and has some non-standard features

Rich, I did see that one that sold on ebay...and that serial # 01110114 makes me think even more that the 'code' for these 'Pro Series' models is YY/MM/Prod#

Nearly every Pro Series guitar I can find visible pics of the neck plate has a serial # which fits this pattern and all the dates seem to be from LATE 2001 to EARLY 2002.

Does anyone else PERSONALLY own or have any pics of Pro Series guitars that either supports or contradicts this theory?

Usually 8 digit ser # indicates India. Starts with 02 = Made in 2002

The 2002 charvels had odd serial numbers for MIj guitars.

Whoops, my bad, that was for Jacksons. I did not know the format for import Charvels of this era.

charvel has never done this. I have owned 6 of them.

And I don't believe everything I read ANYWHERE, but SOMEONE at AMIC named those guitars as 'Pro Series' and they were marketed and sold as Pro Series from Charvel dealers.

There was a Traditional, a Standard series and a Journeyman series, if I recall correctly.

None of these models were sold or marketed as "Pro Series" as far as I can remember.

I bought one of the Charvel Journeyman Model A's fresh from NAMM that year. I don't recall any mention of "Pro Series" being involved.

This era of San Dimas series were MIA.
