  • Isnt she lovely (model 4)

My best mate's model 4. We both bought our model 4's from the same shop in around '89. A load of his wires broke about a year after mine broke.

    All good fun!

thanks mate. Yes, some of the wires got too old and broke up, particularly around solder joints, the pot on the JE1200 had gone too, same thing happened to my model 4. We never had the back covers on our for years, its was almost like UV damage, the wires were so brittle, maybe just old. R4placed them all with that nice silicone insulated stuff.

You need more springs on the trem......

            But seriously, it looks great.

I really want a firecrackle charvel. I'm doing up this old model 3dr that had a busted headstock and manky frets (putting a model 4 neck on it). Cant find anyone over here that does that firecrackle finish, well, i probably could but it's cost more than the guitar is worth, well, more than I can afford to pay anyway

                      That crackle is INSANE!
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

Still might be a good idea to keep the covers on. Keeps stuff out of there that shouldn't be in there.

Yep, learned that the hard way. Thanks to Dave of Frets on the Net, I've got covers on mine with the battery door

                              That is a 'Lava Crackle'.

                              I've got a '88 3DR (Predator) in Lava Crackle.
