Just received a Charvel LS1 GoldTop in mint condition. It does not look like a heavy metal axe but it sure sounds like one. These pickups are smoking hot. No pics yet but it looks identical to this one. The sustain is endless if I want it to be. The tone is different than my Model 6. From what I have read, this axe has the hottest pickups that Jackson made at the time.

I have just been noodling around on this. It may be the best feeling guitar I have ever played without question. The neck is slim but substantial (if that makes sense). It fills your hand. Even with te old strings on it tat I got it with, it literally sings like a violin when the pedals are set right. And to top it off, a good friend just gave it to me. No cost at all.

I have one identical to this. The LS-1 is set neck, 22 frets, 25 1/2" scale. Per the info I could find, it was MIJ from 1993-95 and came in black, "Deep Metallic Blue", and gold. I've only seen pics of the black and gold ones. Body and neck are mahogany and it has a J-50M in the neck and a J-92C in the bridge, two knobs (v, tone) and 3-way switch. Last MSRP was $995.
Mine is completely stock except I had a push-push tone pot installed to split both pickups. And mine also seems to have more sustain than any other guitar I own. I like it very much. The one headshok has looks like it has had the knobs replaced. Pics of mine are in this thread:
