Had to sell the green one to pay for some car repairs, so I got the sister-wives together for one final family portrait.



Sad to see the surf green one shipped off to Oz- but it seems like she's going to a good home.

Yep- mostly because I keep buying them, eh?

Over at the Surfcaster site we've managed to track a total of 28 of the 12-string model so far- over about 5 years of eBay watching, forum crawling/trolling, etc. I've owned them in all of the factory finishes, just not at the same time.

Nope- I've been in the unfortunate position of selling rather than acquiring, so I haven't contacted him just yet. (plus, I'm mostly in it for the 12-strings, so it'd have to be a smokin' deal for me to lay out cash for a surfy 6)

Looks like it- they're so dark and smooth, but all the specs show them as rosewood. I'm pretty sure that they are rosewood, just a nice dark batch. It's also interesting that they are ALL like that- even guitars with serial numbers 20K units apart. Maybe they made the necks all at once?

I was going to say, I'd sell off the black before the green. Without the black, it's hard to decide which one you could let go

Yep. Of the 28 Surf12s we've been able to track, the colors break down like so:

Black: 10 (includes one now-sunburst refin)
Surf Green: 5
Trans Red: 5
Trans Orange: 3
Trans Burst: 2
Magenta: 1
Unknown/Other: 2

I just couldn't decide which one to sell, so I let the numbers do the deciding. Stage-wise, the green one had always been my 2nd tuning axe, and it was always a visual stunner- ugly in the best way. Hopefully I'll be in a position to spring for a replacement when/if one pops up on the 'Bay.
