  • Japanese Charvette quality?

I know that the Charvettes with the close dot spacing on the 12th fret are Japanese (or are they?). My question is how well do they play? There is one in red crackle up for sale, but its about an hour away, I don't want to drive down to see a dud. It has the covered pickups with Charvel logo.

Any first hand experience from anyone here?

Man, I've been wanting a "good" Charvette for a long time and have yet to find one. If you do, hang on to it.

Well, I think it is a basswood one, but I'm not sure. I offered 75 bucks since I have to drive over an hour to see it and he/she said no. Oh well.

For the money you offered you could get a Performer Jackson which is a decent quality axe, at least as good if not better than any Charvette I've laid eyes on. I want a Charvette basically as part two in having all three brands.
