Charvel Desolation Star DST-1FR Arrival & Disappointment
the question is:
why are the controls in reverse? 3way switch, top position is bridge, bottom is neck. The knobs are reversed the same way. Bridge knobs where the neck knobs should be.
I've seen this on other guitars too. Notably the Fredrick Akesson sig from PRS. He primarily plays with the bridge pickup and wants the volume control close to hand. Made sense when he explained it.
Made in China junk. Avoid. There are plenty of good imports being made in South Korea with killer hardware, pickups, wood and fit/finish. No reason to buy Chinese and Mexican junk.
Some of the Mexi Fenders are quite nice guitars. And plenty have given favourable opinions of their new Charvels right in this thread. I judge a guitar on its merits rather than the place that it was built.
