[IMG][/IMG]I just received these two bad boys in a very nice trade!!!! A 1987 Model 2(sanded down to wood grain, what do you think?) and a 1989 275 deluxe in great shape! The Model 2 needs a truss cover and a some new strings but plays and sounds awesome. The pickup is an older Gibson 500T and I really like it regardless of my lackluster bondage with my other 500T's. Maybe they were made better back in the day??? The D and G locking nut base/screw came undone and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it back in there! The 275 is awesome and nearly perfect. I really love the J90 pickup and the trem seems to be just right.I also need to post pics of my 475 Deluxe(original owner changed out all pick ups for older EMG's and I really like them.

HNGD! For the truss rod cover look here...http://www.fretsonthenet.com/ Also the locking nut allen key screw should just thread right back in unless it's stripped and then you're screwed and you need a whole new nut. This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

If you're talking about the pressure pad that clamps the strings down to the nut it shouldn't be that hard to re-thread the allen screw that holds it in place. I take all three of mine off when I restring and I've never had a problem. I don't see how the strings could be a problem either considering the fact that the screw goes right back in the middle between them. This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

I am probably making this seem harder than it is! The thread is fine....the problem I am having is getting the actual pad back in under the strings(detentioned and all) so I can then crew the nut down. I guess I will have to take the strings off and figure it out. Haha. Thanks for all of the replies!

That happened to me and I think I used some tweezers to hold it in place enough to get the screw to bite and then just tightened it down...."Rule number one: In my van, it's Rush. All Rush, all the time. No exceptions. Rule number two: Nobody touch the red button. And I mean never touch the red button. Most importantly, rule number three: There's no jerking it in my van!"
