Need help with a model series floating bridge

Hi,

I have a model series charvel that I've long lost (well ok the bridge plate actually cracked and broke) the floating bridge for. I know that it requires one with a longer block. Can someone pm me with a link to a replacement floyd style bridge with the longer block? I ordered one that I thought had the longer block and i was mistaken. so if anyone can shoot me a link I'd appreciate it.

Just to head off the suggestion right now, no i'm not capable of replacing the block myself and i'm not going to pay the money to have someone else do it, not really worth it to me at the moment. The replacement doesn't need to be high end just needs to fit right.

btw the reason i ask besides the fact that i need a bridge is i am shit with finding this stuff, like i said i ordered one that i thought was the right block size and it wasn't.

What Model and is it a Floyd bridge?

My Model 6 has a 42mm block on the JT-6 bridge. If you need a complete one, there's a few on eBay at the moment. You'll likely still have to set up the intonation.

Charvel Model model should be a JT6, but it could be a Schaller.

Not sure if Gotoh makes a long-block Floyd-style, but Xeno says they're a decent trem, and affordable.

A 43mm blocked OFR should drop right in there if the original was a JT-6.

yup, but i need a link to someone who's selling specifically that. all i keep finding are the ones with the (37?)mm blocks.

there's just the block...but dunno if it'll fit a jt-6...if you're looking on ebay just look for a jt6 from before 87 as no charvels had recessed trems at that time and those should all be long blocks...but honestly i'd just put a regular old long block floyd rose on it if you can find one...those old floyds are bulletpfroof...d.m.

not touching another jt6, I'll take a belt sander to the guitar before i touch a jt6 again. where can i find a long block floyd?

You can probably get away with a 37mm OFR. I have one in my model 5 right now. Unless you have it really high off the body I think it would work. If it's a bolt on, you could then shim the neck to get it closer.

apparently you can order a new schaller trem and choose from 3 sustain block lengths even on the new ones...food for thought in case you dont want chrome...d.m.
