  • Non-US, and not imported Charvel

Looks an awful lot like this:

Was re-listed a couple times on eBay

It's local and I checked it out before Christmas

    Only $350 in store

Not horrible, needs a little bit of a set up. Light marks on the body appear that an OFR transplant was attempted. Hey, look at that, it's not available anymore.

Any way you could possibly put more shit into your sig?

If it isn't native to the US and it wasn't imported to the US

    What is it

      1991 Japanese market SDK-075-SSH

SOMEONE imported it, but was not a model sold here.

Ha! Took me a while but I figured out where I saw the partial catalog scan. Everyone's favorite eBayer had a Honduras mahogany SDK-115. In the listing was the catalog scan of the 115, and a couple lower models off to the right.

So, its an imported guitar. Just not the modern usage of import.
        Gray market.

        Not quite black market.

My best guess is someone was over seas for a bit and brought it home.

The Charvel with the color coded headstock were made for the Japanese market only.

I bet that one was a sto-away on an aeroplane

I'd have sto-ed away one of those Jake E Lee's instead.

Honestly, if this were a US version of something I'd probably let it go. I like having weird/obscure stuff. Jake E Lee or Guthrie Govan model would be neat but this is still an oddity. Will post a full report when I pick it up and do a full set up.

Some overseas stores like Ishibashi do ship to America; not everything from there was smuggled. Ishibashi even has an Ebay store.

Even though it's an import, it was not imported - clever twisting of wordology there
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Keep trying to get as much info as I can. Not a lot out there. Looking at all the pics posted it has routing under the bridge. Shape of the route doesn't really match the bridge, which I'm pretty sure is a JT580. The posts are actually ahead of the route on the surface of the body.

Can't wait to get it home and pick it apart.
