Help, screwed up my new to me Charvel Model 5

The white wire is coming from the middle post
on the tone pot i thought to maybe somewhere on the
5 way switch. There is also a white wire coming off
the mid boost and do not know where it goes either.

Middle post of the tone pot shouldn't be going to the switch. A tone pot is just a treble bleed, so middle post will generally dump high end via a resistor to ground. As you turn the tone pot, more treble is rolled off.

if you look at the image generously provided by the benevolent AlienXNation, it seems that the middle post of the tone pot goes to the preamp. Could it be that the white wire coming from the preamp corresponds with this image also? In which case, you can solder one white to the other and you should be good.



from this picture, it looks like rather than sending the single from the middle post of the pot via a resistor to ground (as you would with a conventional tone pot), you're sending it via the preamp and then to ground (back of the pot)

I THINK the easiest visible difference is the adjustable gain pot and micro switches on the 1000's board.

I think the JE-1000 has a mini toggle and it's on/off, hence the mini level pot on the board.
The JE-1200 is a knob so you can roll it on and off and anywhere in the middle.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

mine has the knob not a switch, kind of gave up on that zillion prong 5 way switch was just too much for me to mess with. I bought the EMG 81/85 solderless kit to go in it, plug and play I can do. Thanks everyone for all the help
Maybe one day I'll figure it out and put it back stock
