Hey! Long time since my last post here. I used to be an active member here and now I'm back to share with you my new guitar day! It's my first Charvel Model 1 build. I bought the body 3 years ago iirc? And finally last month I found a good deal on a charvel model 4 neck. I received the neck with tuners from the postal service 3 days ago and finally I put the axe togheter. Sadly I had some problem in the beginning, cos the neck was not really as described ( don't know what kind of feedback to leave to the seller, transaction was smooth after all, but description missed the dings on the frets (major issue imo) and stripped screw holes. ), it has two dings on 3rd and 6th fret, the last one is pretty bad actually, you can feel it under the finger and makes noise during bending. Also as you can see from the picture, the screw holes were stipped as much as Nina Hurtley love holes so I had to fill the holes with toothpicks and redrill again ( one of them is not so tight ). I'm a handy guy but not really a luthier. Next problem came with the bridge. I bought a cheap wilkinson with steel block, and the holes in the body was not of the same distance as the ones in the wilky . Drilling again. I put everything together after waiting for the glue to dry, and found out the the low E string was 1mm too near to the edge of the neck. 1 f*ckin mm. Oh well, I could not leave it that way. Filling with toothpicks, drilling again etc... And here it is! It plays great. Frets are leveled and pickup is a Fender Atomic I had from a Fender Showmaster pickup swap ( this guitar is also awesome, one of my main player now ). Looks fantastic! very clean, I love it. Nicely done, and way to hang in there till it was done right."I have so much gayness at times. My wife walks in my music room, and there I am, in my undies, listening to "Sister Christian" while lighting fireworks..doin' blow." - Bill Z
"I leave off the back plate and pinch my forskin between the tension springs. That may not work for everyone. But I find that the people love it. Half the tone is in the pud." - Bill Z

Yeah, I had the opposite problem maybe because when I tried to align the bridge to the neck, I didnt consider that the low E string is fatter than the other, so it was really near the edge of the neck. When I checked the sting alignment I used a B or G string. Noob mistake, but it's sorted out now. The neck is great on this plain jane. The only major issue is the 6th fret. I cannot take a picture of it with my cheap camera, I'll try again maybe tomorrow if the day is shiny. The dent on the 3rd fret is not as big as the one on the 6th. I can't really play the G sharp note. I think I have to swap the fret but it's somethink I cannot do on my own..
