  • fretboard width

Is the fretboard of a model series guitar physically narrower at the heel end than that of a guitar that came stock with a floyd? Like a promod neck which I know has the identical heel width of a model series neck (Ive swapped a few). Why is it that sometimes there is a problem with string spacing when you replace a jt6 with a real floyd but the promod neck solves this problem and has the identical heel width? Is this all solved by a different nut? Or is the fretboard physically wider on the promod? I also have a fender with a factory floyd and 2 3/16 heel. No string spacing issues. Does the board slightly overhang or mushroom to solve this?

Interesting. Thanks for going to all that trouble. I feel like a lazy ass now. LOL. So it seems the model series is narrower at the heel at the fretboard.
