Model 6 vs. 650xl

Hey guys,

Im looking to pick up another charvel, but can't decide what to get. Of course I'd love to get a 750xl but they're near impossible to find. So I've come across a model 6 I like for about $750 and a 650xl for about $850. Anyone have either or both? Anyone have a fav of the two?

Get whichever you like the most.
Honestly the quality's there on both and the slight differences in specs make it a decision for you and only you to decide.

People like the M6 because of the headstock logo, but don't like the behind the nut lock, and the Kahler on 1986 models. or the JT-6 for other years.

People like the 650XL because the OFR style locking nut, and the quality trem (a Schaller made JT-590). An a recessed pull back trem route while still being top mounted.

People seem to like the 5 way switch on the 650XL better than the three mini toggles on the M6.

It's up to you.

My 6 has a locking nut vs the behind the nut style. There are examples of them out there, I see them once in a while on eBay. With the 3 minis you get the option to run all 3 pick ups at once, though I rarely do.

Yeah I'm thinking about going for the 650. They seem a little bit more hard to come by and I actually love the toothpaste logo. I have a model 4 already so it's almost like a 6 hah. I'm sure eventually I'll get a 6. Thanks guys!
