the actual getting it done or not is up to you
but for me, its always been about what the guitar looked like.
For example, does a solid color need pickups to match? No. In fact, it needs pickups a different color to make the guitar not so bland.
But, if you had artwork done, let's say The Last Supper, you are already losing Job and Izekial from the trem. Do you want to also lose Jesus, Mary Magdelion, and Judas because of pickups?
omg, its too early in the morning for this. why was the first thing that popped into my mind a bible reference. and its not even a correct reference.
*painted*
as you can see in that picture. it would have been a mess if the pickups were not painted. I'd lose half the face, and have a big black blob right beside it.
Job and Ezekial weren't at the last supper, they were long gone
I have picked a new colour being the 2014 Nissan Ink blue with gold parts, but cant get the proper sized pickup rings in gold.
So here is a few idea's I have pondered
Graphite painted pickup rings with black pickup covers
Ink blue pickup covers with graphite rings
attempting to get hyrdo graphics in a matching gold shade ?
Once this is sorted i can fit and get playing, just not sure how to finish this treasured model 5
