I just finished restoring this spectrum i traded with a friend.
Work i had to do.
1. Someone once tried to convert it to HSS but the cavity was too small and the pickup couldn't adjust properly. So i ran a bearing bit around a templates and cleaned it all up. I also added the holes for the humbucker legs.
2. Strap button was pulling out on the top horn so i fixed that by adding a bigger slightly longer screw.
3. Wiring was rubbish so i re-wired it.
4. Floyd rose maintenance and oiling.
5. Body neck and all parts polished.
6 Various new screws.
7. Shielded all cavities with cp3 paint
8. oil fretboard.
9 polish frets.
shadow kill pot 500k on the volume
Old tone pot that came out of my destroyer
stock 5way vlx switch
switchcraft jack
Bridge and neck coil tap.
bridge - usa made jackson humbucker
Middle - stock j200r
neck - Ultrasonic ref 1
Schaller tremolo
Jackson tuners
maple neck
basswood body
And to round it all off the action is super low and it sounds great. Its a shame it was modded because i think the original sss looks better with the funny pickguard.
