86 model 5 question

Hi guys I'm new to this forum and have a question about an 86 model 5 I recently picked up, my question is about the neck pickup ring- it seems to be taller than normal for a neck pickup ring it is pretty much level with the fretboard and I wasn't sure if this is normal for the year or not?

Could someone have swapped out the original pickup ring?

I'm not sure how to post pictures onto here but yes it was used and could have possibly Been swapped out in the past. It looks almost as if there is two bring position pickup rings.

I have one in my hand...86 model 5. pick up trim rings are identical and neck trim ring is slightly higher than fretboard. .005 at the center. congrats on yer purchase. can't wait to see pics.

Thanks for the replies guys now it doesn't bother me as much knowing its normal. I love this guitar and have always wanted an 80s charvel/Jackson. It's not in perfect shap but not bad for almost 30 years old especially for what I paid for it (traded an 07 Mexican strat straight across for it) I will see about getting some pics uploaded here soon
