The other bad thing about the Avengers is the single locking bridge. Strings only lock at the nut, they thread through the tube on the bridge that is made to look like a locking screw.

there are 2 different years of the avenger, I guess 1 year maybe was ply wood I do not know but some had the single locking bridge(schaler 570) with the double single cols and some had a a double locking bridge(takeuchi) and a humbuker.Originally posted by MountainDog View PostComment

If you see one with a single and a slanted hum someone has altered the body to fit a slanted hum as they came with 2 back to back singles in hum configuration in a slanted hum look. many have a modified body to except a regular hum.
finding an unaltered one is relatively uncommon, finding one in general is relatively easy. at any given time there are a few out for sale online.
how do they play? they aren't half bad.
expect $199 - $450 for one depending on condition.

I just purchased an Avenger body and have a 275 DLX neck I was going to put on it, but it doesn't fit. The heel of the neck is 3/16 too long to line up the screw holes. I figured all bolt on toothpaste logo necks with 22 frets long scale would be the same? Or is the original Avenger neck different?Comment
