Beat to hell Ibanez '89 Necromancer's Castle with Dimarzio Steve's Special for new white so-cal with fender red badge case. I am not up on these mim Charvels. Any thoughts, haven't posted in years. Thanks.

Thanks vector. The reviews more or less hold true. Did the trade. Seems ok, looks and feels good. Needs a set up badly. I think I scored, came with a mint Fender red badge case. Had a bunch of USA Jacksons and a Model 1, this has the feel and the vibe albeit cheap. Going to be be my beater. Probably will sound killer through my old 50w 800 with my boys in the 25 year old power trio still going strong.

Cool. So why are all those USA IBZ's beat to shit anyways? You rarely see a clean one. They weren't exactly cheap beater guitars initially.

The mim SoCal is pimp after an easy setup. Stamped 2013 on the heel of the neck. The Ibanez has the mojo. Scalloped frets, no neck pu, 1 hum/1vol, sick graphic, skate stickers all over the back and sounded beefy. Better than a Jem 7vwh I had. Been played hard, 25 years, don't know who owned it. Hey vector, I will rock the SoCal, I freakin' know about rockin' them like you said!
