upgrade floyd rose for my 90s sdk 085

so recentli i just buyed an awesome mij charvel sdk 085
i love everything about it except the bridge since its really rusty, worn out so i'm looking for another FR to replace
Do u guys know what bridge will fit in? will OFR fit? i dont really want to do any modification on it

I'm not sure, post a picture of the bridge... either an OFR or Schaller JT590 should fit unless it has something weird.

I think a JT 590 should fit right in. Might want to wait for someone more certain to chime in.

Factory installed bridge seems to be some kind of JT-580, but routing looks like it is pull up route for an OFR. This is strange, I think.

The JT590 pullup routes are around 1", while the OFR routes are longer, 1.5" or so to accommodate the longer lock screws. From the pic it looks like the OFR would fit. The JT590 and OFR have slightly different intonation ranges, so I'd go with whichever is closer to the JT580 (not sure on that aspect).

That's a JT580. Replace it with an OFR, not a Schaller/JT590.
A Schaller/JT590 could have some issues with intonation.
JT590 posts are about 1/16 inch closer than where JT580/OFR posts should be.
If you use a 590, you'll have to make up the difference by pushing the saddles pretty far forward on the baseplate.

Cool, sounds like a home run. It will look better on their anyway. Having an angled trem baseplate over a square route blows. Why do manufacturers do that? Charvel isn't too bad about that I guess, but BC Rich was really inconsistent that way. Shame on them, it sets off my OCD.

The original bridge is very likely a Takeuchi JT-580 like my SDK-075

When swapping a Schaller with an OFR you can "usually" make it work in regards to intonation.

The heavier gauge strings that you use, the better chance that you will NOT need run into saddles being pushed too far forward. Thicker strings tend to have a tendency to intonate "further" back towards the fine tuners thereby countering the effect of going to far forward after a swap.

Using 13-56 has allowed me to swap more than a few Schaller trems for an OFR !

I've never had an issue intonating a OFR on a guitar originally fit with a Schaller. But I've only done that upgrade twice. Yes, I did need to move saddles, but nothing out of the ordinary range.

Not sure on the size, the truss rod wrench came with my Jackson PS3-T
