    Are these 2016 models?
Yes they are. To add to it I feel they are the best versions of the Pro Mod ever. They are so well balanced and thought through. There is really only one thing I don't like about them in general and I think this might have been an over sight is the Middle position Full both Humbuckers. If the Volume is in the down position you get 2 single coils, if it is in the UP position , you get the other Single coils. I feel this is a mistake as the sweetest sounding of the 2013-2015 models is the Middle position both full hum buckers.
I'm sure it's an easy re wire to achieve this but I wish Charvel would have included this instead of Singles . Think of it this way if the Volume is down all Humbuckers then when the Volume is up full single coils. This is the Ultimate 6 pack of sound. Charvel are you listening?

Are the necks on these new ones different than the previous MIM ones?

Dude do yourself a favor and grab a So Cal. They are remarkable guitars. I'm totally digging my So Cal not over my San Dimas but I love having a different flavor of tone clean and Driven.
The clean tones are warm and bunchy , I can almost get break up on my amp that doesn't break up on the clean channel. It has mad head room for years.
The So Cal's are special with the Full Duncan Distortion setup. I'm so into these pickups. Don't get me wrong I'm a 59 / JB guy and thats MY tone but I so dig having the ability to put one down and pick up another and have a totally different tone without really having a completely different guitar.
I just want now to own all Charvel guitars. I have Jackson and ESP but they don't get any play time anymore.

I was playing my So Cal last night and Man I gotta admit the more I play it the more I love it. It's so damn aggressive and strong. It's different then the San Dimas and I love that. I can create different tones without having to change any of my amp or effect settings. I simple swap of guitar and BAM, different Metal tones.
I'm absolutely going to FU tone the hell out of it. I played 2 Jacksons one with and one without identical guitars even same exact color and man what a difference it makes. Fuller warmer stronger and tighter just with changing out spring , block , string holder etc. It was a full job done at CMC Guitars which by the way that place is awesome if you looking for a Charvel or Jackson guitar. Steve has many (2 many if you ask me LOL, I see Divorce in my future if I hang around there to much)models in stock and man they are all killer.
He has this guy Tom who is amazing at setups and what nots , he does the Mod's right there in the store.

I picked this one because prefer no pick guard, and I prefer the 59 and JB pickups.

I've never played or heard (in person) any of the Mexican Pro-Mods, but here is one of many official Charvel videos demonstrating the versatility of the 2016 six pack of sound:

Yes. 2016 models have visible signs that distinguish them from 2015 models, including the truss rod spokewheel at the butt of the fretboard, volume knob moved further away than normal, and flatsawn maple necks. Look at rexbinary's headstock for that distinctive flatsawn grain (surprisingly good-looking), which honestly I don't see too often since I'm so accustomed to seeing quartersawn grain patterns.
