  • 375 Deluxe Question

Can someone explain to me why some 375 Deluxe's have the body shaved where your forearm rests on the guitar and some don't? Here's a pic of my new purchases.

Because one of those isn't a 375 deluxe?

      Those are 2 different models a 375 and a 3A.

Yes I know that. I guess I shouldn't have put the pic of the 3A in there, but I wanted to show it off too! Anyway, my 375 does not have the arm rest cutaway, but I have noticed many others that do. Has anyone else ever noticed this?

I was about to say they all had no cutaway, but I see through a search that some did. Looks to me like either depends on manufacturing year, or even finish, as the figured tops tend to not have them.

FWIW Mine does not have the cutaway

I have a amber figured top model without the cutaway.

But I've seen photos of ones in solid colour with the cutaway.

That's what I've seen too...onl solid colours seem to have them.

I think it's got something to do with not being able to easily bend the thin maple tops around the arm contour.

Are they actually maple tops though? I always thought mine was photoflame since it's on the back as well

I thought they were a thin maple veneer, but maybe they are just photoflame on those?
