I'm a new member trying to identify my first Charvel. I think from reading this forum it was an 86 model 6. It was neck thru HSS with active electronics. I downloaded the photo bucket app and uploaded the pics. But I have no clue how to put them on here. Thanks.

hope that works. Thanks. I bought this used for around $370 in 92 I think. The pics are from 93. I had the bridge blocked. It was unfortunately stolen in 98. I was just trying to get some information on it. I never knew anything about it back in the day as far as year or model. These were made in USA and then imported out of the country or am I confused? Thanks again for any info.

Welcome. Yes, that's a Model 6. All Model series were made in Japan, neck-thru or bolt-on. The bolt-on models had neck plates that had Fort Worth, Texas on them, but that was just Jackson's headquarters at the time.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

That is either an '87 or an '88. The '86 had a Kahler bridge, and the guitar in the picture looks like it has the Jackson JT-6 licensed Floyd Rose clone. I have an '87 myself, and it's my favourite guitar, even though I prefer V shaped ones.
The closest Jackson equivalent would be either a Shannon Soloist or a 30th anniversary Soloist.
The regular production guitars from Jackson all have recessed Floyds now, whereas the one on the Model 6 (and on the 80's Jacksons) were top mounted. The idiocy with recessed trems started in 1989-1990, so the bulk of Jackson's production guitars are like that.
