Charvel Model 4 - which year ?

Hey guys,

quick question. I have a Charvel Model 4 and I'm trying to fínd out its exact year of production.

The logo on the heastock has an (R), the logo on the neckplate has a "TM". It also has a neckplate gasket.
From this info alone it should be an '87.

Here's where it gets weird, its serial number is 28xxxx.
According to my info, the year '88 started with 27xxxx serials.

Can someone shed some light onto this please !
Is it a late '87 or an early '88 ?

I'm afraid '87-'88 is probably as close as you'll get.
For all the great info out there, such as audiozone, oftentimes examples will appear that don't follow the rules.

I wasn't sure that we could track import serials for bolt ons.
Either way, the "model year" is probably more important than the actual year.

So, let's say it is the '87 model year. There was no '88 model year.
