Model 5 Refinishing - Advices on color?

Hi all, I have a Model 5 (candy red) that badly needs refinishing. The paint is missing in several spots, tips of the wings, jack plate etc. I'm talking about really missing, not chips, but wood-level holes in the paint.

It's a great guitar besides this, so I want it to be fixed, but the size of the damage won't allow a fix up, it needs a complete refinishing.

I would prefer a solid color: something along the lines of Kiesel Racing Orange, or maybe some Pink? I don't know...any suggestions??

EDIT: also...nitro or polyurethanic finishing?

Mopar "Gecko Green" (Code PFM)





I've been trying to paint a parts-mutt Dinky this colour for a few years now, but my old man refuses to stop taking long-term (and often for minimal profit) projects into the shop so I never have space enough to do anything for myself...

That Mopar green is really great, probably at the moment my second choice after Kiesel orange. This project guitar will sport a set of dimarzio liquifire and crunch lab, mainly a metal Axe.

A new coat of hi quality Candy apple red (gold base) is still going to be awesome. Stick with what you know.

Just got a fusion SS refinished in Sea Foam Green 2-pak poly (not too thick but still durable). Any of those classic fender auto colours look sweet on Dinky/Model series IMO
