So I bought this fusion deluxe a few years ago and it's sat most of the time in the closet. That is, until a fusion neck with maple board popped up on eBay one day. I've had the search saved since I bought the guitar. I cleaned up the neck the best I could, it was kinda gunky and then I taped up the frets and took some steel wool to the bars till they shined. So once I swapped it out, I had horrible fret buzz. So I bought the cheapest truss rod wrench I could find on eBay, and of course the wrench was too tall for the cavity. I can't believe I didn't own one already since I have around 10 charvels from the era. So I tracked one down locally and just finished setting it all up. Really loving the maple sound compared to the old rosewood sound. Here are a few pics.
