  • Queensrÿche - Eyes Of A Stranger cover w/ Custom San Dimas

    What's up dudes!
This has always been one of my favorite tracks from Operation: Mindcrime, gotta love that record. It's me on guitars and my buddy Vale on vocals as usual. I've also played bass, programmed synths and drums and handled mixing/mastering. All the tones you hear are coming from the Fractal AX8, if anyone wants to try out the patches you can find them here https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threa...wnload.127314/
The guitar is my modded 2016 San Dimas Pro Mod (removed the tone knob, original Floyd, gold hardware), hope you like it!

Awesome tone and playing as always! Killer vocals from your friend too.

How did you program those drums? They sound great.

Thank you! mainly using the Metal Machine EZX with some other samples on kick and snare (some from SSD4 and some from my personal collection), tons of gated reverb and smashing the room mics with the 1176 all-button-in thing I'm also a drummer so in terms of the actual programming I try to stick to what a real drummer would/could play, that's the key to make everything sound as "real" as possible

Great work by Vale and yourself but that's not surprising anymore.

What else can be said? Besides nailing the technical part, you guys also nailed the emotion of that song, which is an even greater accomplishment. It's good enough that if you could go back in time and release this before QR wrote it, you'd be legends today!

I probably haven't listened to that entire song in 10+ years, although I heard it a million times back when it came out. Man, what great times of discovery those were......
