Back in the 1980's a friend of my brothers let me play his USA custom ordered Charvel. I had a Fender Strat at the time and the Charvel was so much easier to fret and play. Have owned various Strats, Gibson's, and PRS over the past 30 years, sold them all and ordered my first Charvel today, this MIM So-Cal. Was a bit concerned about the MIM quality until I read some posts here on the forum, plus at $899 I'm not taking too much of a risk price wise. Here's hoping this one will feel/play as great as that 1980's Charvel. Also ordered a Charvel hard case for it.

Is it wrong I spent the last several days since my new Charvel arrived...looking for a 2nd Charvel to buy? No luck so far but found a mint condition Charvel chainsaw case for $50 so I brought that home. Now I just need a reverse headstock Charvel for it, that's how GAS is done properly.

I had the first year 2013 MIM Charvel, and a newish Japenese So-Cal.
The fretwork is much better on my 2016 MIM neck, when I took it to my luthier he said he didn't have to touch the frets at all.
Do you remember those 1980's necks being much different than the modern Charvel necks?

As good as the USA Production Models are, nobody should be paying $1200 for one (NOS or used) when they were $999 and $1099 brand new ten years ago.
I don't see them rising that much in value this quickly, considering they are PRODUCTION MODELS, not rare one-offs. And I'm an owner of a USA one.
