Newbie - 89/90 fusion custom - toothpaste logo Charvel - electronics ?

Hi - just picked up above - first ever Charvel - ok price but needs some tlc - volume pot works but not smooth rotation - what should I be buying to replace ; also tone pot is a little unsubtle as at when its rolled back its very muddy indeed .. any capacitor value recommendations to address this ?

If you go with good quality USA pots like CTS, you may have to enlarge the holes a little.

Smaller capacitor values will be less muddy. .022uF is standard. Go to .015uF or less.

I personally prefer the "muddy" rolled back tone sound, but like DonP says above, you want the .015uf caps. I have a guitar with the 0.22uf and it is noticebly thinner sounding rolled off to me.
